My cousin, Jean, spent eighteen happy years, in this most recent chapter of her life. She and Skip enjoyed wonderful shared interests and time together; gardening, traveling and cooking. I met Skip four times. I wish we had an opportunity to become better acquainted. I believe I missed knowing an intelligent interesting man. One who brought happiness to our Jean. Skip and I met as Theta Chi pledge brothers at Auburn, then fraternity brothers, roommates, friends, then roommates again. I was fortunate to meet his parents in Albany and stay in their home for a couple of nights. All very nice folks and Skip and I palled around together a lot. Later, during our Senior years at Auburn, Skip and his first wife, Linda, were best "newlywed friends" with me and Jean. One of my fondest memories is the two of them with two huge Great Danes all crammed into a VW bug. LOL!! We're going to miss Skip dearly. True friends are few and far between.
